Recipes Shared at the Table, Cherished for a Lifetime.
There’s something sacred about walking into Grandma’s house.
Before you even see her, you know you’re there.
The smell meets you first — something warm, sweet, familiar. Maybe it’s fresh bread, or something simmering low and slow on the stove. You can almost taste it before it ever touches your lips. You wander in, and somehow… your favorite snack is already waiting. Always. As if she knew you were coming.
And maybe what you remember most isn’t just the food — it’s how you felt.
Welcomed. Known. Delighted in.
I believe God meets us like that.
Not just in the profound or the poetic, but through the senses He so thoughtfully gave us — taste, smell, touch, sight, sound. Little doorways into His goodness. Tiny reminders that heaven is not as far off as we sometimes think.
At my retreats, I’ve found that something as simple as a shared meal can become holy ground. Laughter around a table. The clink of dishes. The first bite of something delicious. The pause that follows when everyone looks up and says, “Oh my goodness… this is so good.”
These recipes you’ll find here?
They’re a lot like Grandma’s.
Tried and true.
Made with intention.
Passed around and lingered over.
And if I’m honest… they taste a little like heaven.
My hope is that as you make them, you don’t just fill your table — you engage your senses. You slow down. You savor. You notice. That maybe, in the aroma filling your kitchen or the sweetness on your tongue, you catch a glimpse of the goodness of God.
